Senator Sam Egwu cited Order 43 and informed the Senate on the demise of a literary Icon, Chukwuemeka Ike, the man who pioneered the establishment of WAEC and authored many literary works.

CONSIDERATION OF BILLS- Second Reading
- A Bill for an Act to establish the Nigerian Civil Defence Academy Pandogari to serve as an institution of high level manpower development, with a mandate to train civil defence officers to acquire and attain the highest standards of professionalism and award such certificate as may be approved by the relevant academic regulatory body from time to time and for other related matters 2020 (SB. 242) by Senator Sani Musa.
“This Bill is timely and germane. We need to support this Bill because we do not want security officials to be battling what his roles and duties are. I want to plead with our colleagues to take this Bill seriously. I rise to second this Bill and crave the indulgence of my colleagues to support this Bill.”- Senator Emmanuel Bwacha.
“I rise to lend my voice to the support of this Bill. It is necessary and it is time for NSCDC to have an academy of its own. I so support this Bill.”- Senator Abba Moro.
“I urge my colleagues to support this very important Bill so the civil defence can have a place to conduct their own training.”- Senator Gabriel Suswam.
“When we see a good thing, we know it. Training the NSCDC will be an added advantage to community policing. We must prepare for the insecurity ahead. I support Senator Sani Musa for coming up with this Bill.”- Senator Rochas Okorocha.
“Yes we have insecurity in Nigeria but I am not quite sure setting up this academy is the solution. The existing paramilitary school what has happened to them? For me, going forward i think we should be improving on what we have.”- Senator Teslim Folarin.

Then the issue of compensation to the land owner from the economic point of view would have a quantum leap in their standard of living and reduce the poverty rate in that area.”- Senator Isah Jibrin.

- A Bill for an Act to provide for the establishment of the Federal University of Environment Technology, Saakpenwa Ogoni and for other matters connected there with, 2020 (SB. 200) by Senator Barinada Mpigi.
“This Bill is one bill that deserve all our support.I do believe that the establishment of this university will be of good importance and so I rise to wholeheartedly support this Bill.”- Senator Sandy Onor.
“The need to establish this university is very essential.”- Senator Biodun Olujimi.
“I also rise to support this Bill. The sponsor of this Bill has taken us to Ogoni and why we need to establish this university. - A Bill for an Act to provide for the establishment of the Nigeria National Commission against the proliferation of small arms and light weapons and for related matters, 2020 (SB. 283) by Senator Smart Adeyemi.
“I will say that this Bill speaks to the concern of all of us. The prohibition of small arms has become a special issue that needs special solution. If this commission is put in place it will go a long way in restructuring the security architecture of the country.”- Senator Basiru Ajibola.
“The Bill is apt and timely considering the security situation we are facing in Nigeria today. It is right in time to set up a commission to be in charge of proliferation of arms in Nigeria.”- Senator Adamu Aliero.

- A Bill for an Act to establish the Police Academy Wudil, Kano as a degree awarding institution and for related matters, 2020 (SB. 182) by Senator Jika Halliru.
“I am in support of this Bill that establishes Police Academy.”- Senator Aishatu Dahiru.
