Ticket fees collector identify as Jelili Jimoh has been confirmed dead after slapping okada rider twice in Ogun State.
The Okada rider identify as Ezekiel Amosu was accosted by late Jimoh, when he picks a passenger From Dalemo community going to Beshi bus Stop in Agbodo area of Ogun State when the incident occur.
According to eyewitness who speak to newsmen said that When Jimoh stop Amosu, to collect fees, amosu beg him that he did not work at Aghodo, but he should take N100, but Jimoh refuse said N100 is too small, he then slap Amosu and size his bike key.
Amosu called people within the area to help him beg Jimoh, that is when Jimoh now landed second slap on Amosu, but Amosu never retaliate.
Jimoh now went and sit down at the corner, within two minute he started shivering, he slump and was rush to near by hospital were he was confirmed dead.
“He went to sit somewhere and before we knew it, he slumped. We rushed him to a hospital and he was confirmed dead on arrival. I was stunned,” an eyewitness, who identified himself simply as Muyiwa, told our correspondent. “The okada rider didn’t touch him at all,” he added.
Confirming the report, Ogun Stats public relations officers, DS Abimbola Oyeyemi, said hey are aware of the incident, but it be miscarriage of justice to arrests Ezikiel Amosu.
He said, “It is true. He slapped the okada rider twice. He slumped two minutes after and died. The rider did not touch him and many eyewitnesses testified at the police station. It was recorded as a case of sudden and unnatural death so arresting the rider will be a miscarriage of justice.”
