Some Urhobo community in Delta State, has ban eating of cow meat over repeated killing of their people by Fulani herdsmen.
The information made available to newsmen’s started that the banning became necessary as herdsmen continued killing farmers in the areas.
The clan of the community were Fulani’s herdsmen killed members of the community in their farmland, said that non of it community members should by cow, meat again. He said
“You can’t kill our people and expect us to be eating cow meat when our people can’t go to farm. The ban takes effect immediately.”
The Uwheru Kingdom in the Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State who initiate the band, said that sale and consumption of cow meat in the kingdom even when doing burial or marriage ceremony is hereby ban
Uwheru is one of the 24 traditional kingdoms in Urhoboland in Delta State.
