Bello Rejoice, as Court declares Kogi PDP had no candidate in Nov 16th 2019 governorship election

Kogi State governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello must have been in a celebration mode since yesterday following the declaration by the court that Kogi State People Democratic Party (PDP) has no candidate for November 16th 2019 gubernatorial in Kogi State.

The election which produce governor Yahaya Bello witness a lot violence and many soul were lost during the political battle between Engr. Musa Wada of PDP candidates and Yahaya Bello the APC candidate.

The case which already in court to challenge the victory of Governor Yahaya Bello has witness setback as high court yesterday declare that Wada is not duly elected as PDP gubernatorial flag-bearer, due to violence and gunshot during PDP primary election in Kogi.

in said Primary election, Senator Dino Melaye was said to have sustain injuries.

Wada who is challenging the victory of Governor Bello is now declare not fit for the election because he was not duly elected .

Kogi State High Court Judge, Justice John Olorunfemi, in a judgment yesterday in Lokoja, on Thursday, ruled that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, had no candidate in the November 16, 2019 governorship election in the state.

He said: “Neither the claimant, Alhaji Abubakar Idris nor the defendant, Engr. Musa Wada can lay claim to being the authentic flagbearer of the Peoples Democratic Party since the primary was inconclusive.

He pointed out that the claimant who averred that he would have won the primary conducted by the 1st defendant if the missing votes which belonged to him were added to his votes, could not convince the court to deliver judgement in his favour. Similarly, Justice Olorunfemi further submitted that the second defendant could not convince the court that he actually won the party primary, which was marred with rancour and acrimony, arising from pandemonium, due to sporadic gunshots, that compelled the participants to scamper for safety.”
