High Court sitting in Lokoja, Kogi State capital today truck out a defamation case filed against Usman Okai Austin by Kogi state Deputy Governor, Edward Onoja.
Edward Onoja had in 2017 Sue Usman Austin’s Okai over what he described as character deformation when he was the Chief of staff to Governor Yahaya Bello.
In the suite, Onoja is demanding N100 Million from Austin Okai as acdamages.
The court document submitted by the Kogi state deputy Governor Edward Onoja with the lawsuit number Hcl/71/2017 before the Kogi State High Court against Usman Okai Austin, were characterized of lacking a concrete evidence against him.
Justice S.O Otu who delivered the judgment ruled that the matter is struck out as the Claimant/Applicant is not diligent enough to face his case.
“The judge also ruled that Mr Edward Onoja has no evidence against the respondent Comrade Austin Okai, meanwhile, counsel to Usman Okai Austin, John Oyidi ESQ , described the action of his lordship as justice dispense.” Observers Time
