Security Watch. SSA on security matters, Kogi LG held a crucial meeting with the traditional chiefs

With the lingering security challenges and the inability of the security apparatus of the government to guarantee safety and security in the country, the question that bothers everyone’s mind in the country today is “can there be security?” Is security of lives and properties achievable? The newly appointed head of Kogi LG and Senior Special Assistant on security matters thinks it’s achievable.

In lieu with the directives of the governor, H.E, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, the SSA on security matters, Kogi LG today, 18th March, 2020 met with all the traditional rulers of Koton Karfe to chart a way forward. The traditional rulers in their central and underlying fears on the growing concern of insecurity all agreed that, unemployment is one of the very key reason for the increase in crime rate.

They appeal that, if employment is tackled and totally controlled, there would be a decline to the issues of insecurities.

The Senior Special Assistant on Security Matters respond that for the Government to tackle insecurity, a key starting point should be to understand the causes of insecurity as well as to investigate their sources of social disorder and instability.
