Coronavirus: Federal Government begins transfer of N20,000 to poor households in Nigeria

The federal government of Nigeria has commenced the conditionals transfer of N20,000 to poor households in Nigeria.

The conditionals transfer begin from the federal capital territory, Abuja today 1st of April 2020.


Sadia Umar Farouk, the minister of humanitarian affairs, disaster management and social development, who speak to newsmen on the development, said that the transfer of the money will last for four months.

The transfer of N20,000 by the federal government of Nigeria to poor households in the country, begin today at Kwali area council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja.

The minister who speak on channel television said: “We have directed immediate cash transfer to the poorest and most vulnerable households in the country. “Because of this COVID-19, the vulnerable groups have to expand, because we are aware that there are people who live on daily wage…”
