Help us build our bridge: Ola- Omala farmers in Kogi State beg for assistance

Yunusa Muhammad Lawal

Usually Over 40 percent of farmers in Abejukolo Omala LG head quarter use this bridge to their respective farm land it is yet another rainy season but the broken condition of the bridge is causing difficulty in crossing Omala stream especially for our women ,fathers and grandfather’s who survives mainly on farming, we severally cried out to those we hope would take charge but the result was otherwise our expectation.

Since we have no alternative means of reconstruction, we came to a resolution that each house hold in Ola-Omala be levied, and from the little contribution made by each house hold we are able to construct a new wooden bridge to this level by engaging our tired grandfathers and willing youths in 12 hours voluntary labour.

This acient bridge has been the shortest access to our forefathers farm land, also the easiest route to Abejukolo enjoyed by villagers from Ajadamfó, Majenue, óchechele and others, with our efforts it now built to 50 percent completion,

we wish to use this medium to appeal for assistance from any willing Omala citizen who wish to assist our poor granfahers and grandmother’s in completing this bridge as completion is limited by material shortages and financial inadequacy.if you are from Abejukolo check the photos Bellow to see what your father, grandfather, uncle etc are going through just to ensure they have a bridge to cross to their farm land.

We will be grateful to those whose hearts are tourched to help by what we are currently going through to ensure farming is made easy and possible for us this season.
