Coronavirus: 3 prominent Nigerians have died of COVID-19 (photos)

Reports claim that three prominent Nigerians have died of coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic, since the outbreak of the disease in the country.

Marydave gathered that the disease since its worldwide spread has resulted to about 2 million cases and over 100,000 deaths globally.

Recall that the COVID-19 was confirmed in Lagos state on February 27, 2020, as an Italian citizen who works in Nigeria and returned from Milan, Italy to the state.

Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), on Friday, April 17, confirmed 493 cases of COVID-19 as 159 patients had recovered from disease, leaving 17 dead.

  1. Suleiman Achimugu

Suleiman Achimugu was confirmed died of COVID-19 on Sunday, March 22, following symptoms of the disease shortly after his return to the country from the United Kingdom.

Achimugu, a former managing director of the Pipelines and Products Marketing Company (PPMC), a subsidiary of the NNPC, died at 67-year-old.

  1. Victor Ikwuemesi

Victor Ikwuemesi, the chairman of the defunct Sosoliso Airlines, also died of COVID-19 in London, United Kingdom, on April 14, 2020, after he was diagnosed with the coronavirus.

  1. Abba Kyari

Abba Kyari, the chief of staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, died from complications of COVID-19 on Friday, April 17.

Kyari had tested positive for the coronavirus in March after a trip to Germany and Egypt. The chief of staff was flown to Lagos state for treatment shortly after he tested positive for the deadly coronavirus.
