My Lesson 101 from covid-19 19 the burden of Irresponsible leadership – Ndifeke Akpekong

By Ndifereke Akpekong

Ecclesiastes 10:5-7 The Message (MSG)
Here’s a piece of bad business I’ve seen on this earth,
An error that can be blamed on whoever is in charge:
Immaturity is given a place of prominence,
While maturity is made to take a backseat.
I’ve seen unproven upstarts riding in style,
While experienced veterans are put out to pasture.

Our government have completely failed us: one day in the annals of history what will the current government say they did when we were faced with a plague that threatens the very existence of the human race. Responsible government has transferred monies to the account of their citizens to help ease their pains and it is not displayed on Facebook or other social media platforms. It is an insult to give an elderly person 3-5 cups of rice for more than two weeks running then snap the person and post it on social media. Are we running a social media government?

In other climes there are elderly people’s home where they are taken care of.
O God! Please if it is by any sin we or our forebears did commit that makes us suffer this irresponsibility and insensitivity of leadership: we are sorry? Please forgive us, turn again and bless us and heal our land, restore to us sane leadership.
Very soon they will come to solicit for vote from those they wish death.
I am not a fan of Donald Trump, but see how he inspires hope in his people and let them know that this dark cloud shall pass.
Here is what we got from our beloved governor through the Eket council chairman through the supervisor for environment to us the citizens (doubting Thomas: a new name that befits us)
in issues of public health especially in a pandemic, this is not how information is spread
Please help us we need responsible leadership in times like this, fear and panic kills faster than any virus
