Nasarawa to Repatriate over 40,000 Almajiris to Kogi State and other states in Nigeria

The decision of Nasarawa state government to repatriates 35 Almajiris to Kogi state is a deliberate attempt to import Covid-19 into kogi state.

This move at this critical time of Covid-19 pandemic is raucous and an attempt to expose the coronavirus free state to a greater risk.

This hideous act of divisibility would cast spell in the unity of Nigeria in the nearest future.

It is a gross violation of the fundamental principles that guide our rights as a citizen of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

We need some sort of principle to reason from the angle of the Nigeria constitution, which is grossly abuse by all the Governors who partake in the repatriation of Nigeria citizens from their current state of residents to their state of origin.

Every Nigerian has rights, duties, liabilities and privileges, which are provided for in the hundreds of laws that exist in Nigeria. However, there are certain rights that basically trump all other ones. They are rights that are referred to as inalienable rights, rights for which the law has made specific and special provision.

Amongst the fundamental human rights violated by these acts of repatriation,

is the

RIGHT TO FREEDOM OF MOVEMENT!

Every citizen of Nigeria is entitled to move freely throughout Nigeria and to reside in any part of it, and no citizen of Nigeria shall be expelled from Nigeria or refused entry or exit from it.

Almajiris also have right as a citizen of Nigeria and such right must not be abuse by those who are privileged to strengthen the law.

The ONE NIGERIA philosophy of unity is obviously in jeopardy.
