Niger CPS condole NUJ, Radio Niger over death of colleague

The Chief Press Secretary to the Niger State Governor, Mrs. Mary Noel Berje has received, with shock and sadness the sudden death of Alhaji Muhammad Abubakar Sadik, a senior professional colleague with the State Broadcasting Corporation and former State Secretary of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ).

In a condolence message to the Acting General Manager of the Corporation, the Chief Press Secretary described the demise of the veteran Journalist and broadcaster as huge loss, not only to his place of primary assignment but to the Journalism profession as a whole.

“Indeed, this is a sad one for us today. We are particularly saddened by the exit of a truly unique individual whose professional ability was second to none, whose modest lifestyle was exemplary and worthy of emulation by all.

Mrs. Mary Noel Berje further eulogized late Alhaji Muhammad Abubakar Sadiq describing him as a personification of humble and complete gentleman stressing that the deceased has left a very big vacuum that will take a long time to fill.

While commiserating with the immediate family members, management of Radio Niger and the Nigeria Union of Journalists in the state, the Chief Press Secretary prayed Allah to grant the deceased eternal rest and make Jannatul Firdausi his final home.

Until his death, Alhaji Muhammad Abubakar Sadiq was a Principal Officer in the News and Current Affairs Department of Radio Niger and the State Chairman of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria. He was also the Director General for Nomadic affairs during the administration of Muazu Babangida Aliyu.
