Riot At College Of Education, Mosogar Front Gate As Protesters Who Are Indigenes Of The Community Seeks For The Office Of A Provost (Photo/Video)

News reaching to us on a new development in one of Ethiope West Local Government Area communities, Mosogar, on a riot rampaging at the school’s front gate.

It was reported that the indigenes of this community seeks for the office of a provost in their prestigious College of Education which is affiliated to two of Nigeria’s top universities (UNIBEN & DELSU).

Also, in a post made by a Facebook user it was made mentioned to us that it has been up to 18years since the office was occupied by a non-indigene and they’re using this medium to appeal to the Governor of Delta State, Sen. Ifeanyi Okowa to look into the issue on ground.

“Indigenes of Mosogar kingdom, are currently in protest over the high Marginalization of the kingdom in the appointment of principal officers over the last 18years of establishment of College of Education Mosogar, Ethiope West Local Government Area of Delta State.

“Since the inception of the school, union activities and some non-indigenes in the school, has always used their union to thwarts every effort of the kingdom to produce a substantive provost of the College.

“The recent one,is the case of Dr. Moses Omayuli an indigene,who came first in the interview for provost,only for the governing Council Chairman Rt. Hon. Lovette Idisi to disqualified him, due to a protest letter filed by the school union, on age basis.

“The same set of individuals,where there when Dr. Daniel Dr. Whawo and Prof. Emmanuel Ojeme the immediate past provost, was appointed even when they were older as at the point of their appointment.

“As a host Community, qualified indigenes Should be considered, even if for this first time since establishment of the college.

“Mosogar kingdom is appealing to the Executive Governor of Delta State Sen. Ifeanyi Okowa to look into this injustice as a host Community.
