Some Achievements of Governor Abdullahi A. Sule one year in office for the Justice Sector

1- Construction and furnishing of two new court houses in Toto and Gudi.
2- Digitation of activities of the Ministry of Justice- case management software, distribution of laptops to all lawyers, installation of v-sat for the ministry of justice.
3- The payment of practicing fees, stamps and seals and dressing allowances for law officers.
4- The hosting of the meeting of the National Justice Sector Reform Committee under the Chairmanship of the Honourable The Attorney General of the Federation.
5- The training of Law Officers, Judges, Magistrates and law enforcement officers on the workings of the New Administration of Criminal Justice Law (ACJIL).
6- Employment of 14 new lawyers.
7- Orientation and induction programme for the newly employed law officers.
8- Renovation and upgrade of the Ministry of Justice Headquarters LAFIA.
9- Renovation of the Ministry of Justice Area Office in Keffi.
10- Establishment of new Area Office in Nasarawa Local Government Council.
11- Setting up of the Area Office in Akwanga.
12- Approval of new office for the Ministry of Justice Zonal Directorate located within NAGIS premieres in Mararaba.
13- Furnishing and provision of IT gadgets for the Ministry Headquarters and all Area Offices.
14- Provision of additional vehicles.
15- The Antikidnapping Law.

  1. The Procurement Law.
    17- The Environment Law.
    18- The Witness Protection Law.
    19- The Child’s Rights Protection Executive Order.
    20- The Dangerous Infectious Diseases Regulation.
    21- The COVID-19 Proclamations 1 to 8.
    22- NAGIS Amendment Law 2020.
    23- Approval of N50 Million Naira for purchase of vehicles for Magistrates.
    24- Release of funds for purchase of vehicles for High Court Judges.
    25- The Ministry of Justice in the year 2019-2020 succeeded in saving the state an estimated 15 Billion Naira through diligent handling of state cases and sound legal advice and averted big potential losses for the State. At least 200 criminal convictions were secured. This success is attributable to the support and cooperation from the Governor.
    26- Settlement of major legal disputes through direct intervention of the Governor thereby saving the state billions of Naira in potential losses.
    27- The institution of a Master Plan for growth of the State tagged the Nasarawa Economic Development Strategy (NEDS) and the approval of the Justice, Law and Order Sector Implementation Plan (SIP).
    28- Inauguration of the Nasarawa State Community Volunteer Guards.
    29- Establishment of the Criminal Law Reform Committee.
    30- Construction of the Justice Avenue, the road leading to the Ministry of Justice courtesy of CSR by Shelters Construction Company LTD and Triacta.
