Yobe state Governor His Excellency Hon. Mai Mala Buni said the Damaturu International Cargo Airport is ready for test landing on Friday.
The Governor stated this on Monday while receiving the Chief of Air Staff, Sadiq Abubakar, who was on inspection of the newly established helipad in Damaturu .
Buni commended President Muhammadu Buhari, the service chiefs, officers and men of the Nigeria armed forces for the new zeal in fighting terrorism.
The governor explained that there was improvement in the relative peace recorded in Yobe state and the North east .
“We just celebrated a peaceful sallah across the state without any breach of peace unlike what was obtained in the past” he said.
Governor Buni expressed the readiness of his government to support the security forces in ensuring peace and security in the state.
The Air Chief Sadiq Abubakar, said the helipad in Damaturu will improve logistics in the fight against terrorism in the state.
He commended Yobe state government for the support and synergy with security organisations towards combating crime and terrorism.
