PTF cries over rejection of COVID-19 patients in hospitals

The Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, on Thursday, lamented on the recent rejection of COVID-19 patients across the country, resulting in a greater number of deaths.

At the Task Force press conference in Abuja, the PTF chairman and secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, stated that despite the pleas made by the Federal Ministry of Health and the NCDC, hospitals continued to reject COVID-19 patients, which has resulted in more deaths.

He laments, “we are recording more deaths over hospitals’ refusal to treat patients”.

Boss Mustapha noted that the recent recorded deaths are more of non-coronavirus cases, as hospitals are afraid of treating patients, for fear of COVID-19.

The PTF chairman stated: “The Minister of Heath has reached out to all medical directors, directing them to continue providing regular medical services, so that we do not end up with avoidable deaths. Truth be told, we are having more deaths from non-attendance to other diseases than even COVID-19”.
