Kogi dissociates self from fake COVID-19 update logo

The Kogi State Government has dissociated itself from a fake COVID-19 update logo trending on the social media.

Chief Press Secretary to the Kogi State Governor, Onogwu Muhammed in a statement issued on Saturday described the said logo which carried the photos of the governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello and his deputy, Edward Onoja alongside the emblems of the NCDC and the Kogi State government as fake.

“The update logo which bore the information “COVID-19 CASE UPDATE, 0 NEW CASES CONFIRMED, 29TH MAY, 2020, TOTAL CONFIRMED-0, DISCHARGED-0, DEATHS-0” was not created by the state government.

“We want to make it unequivocally clear that the state government did not authorize any body to create any such COVID-19 update logo on its behalf and we urged the general public to disregard the said update”, the statement said.

The statement noted that the said logo was created by mischief makers who are bent on creating unnecessary controversies and confusion at this critical time of the pandemic.

The government urged the good people of the state to continue to observe all the preventive measures and health protocols earlier issued to them on COVID-19.
