Bottom Half Clubs Prepare To Vote For No Relegation At The End Of Season.

To hold meeting on Thursday for more talks

With the English premier league set to begin by the 17th of this month final modalities are been put in place to ensure that the league is fit enough for a restart.

In regards to that,A meeting between clubs in the EPL would take place on Thursday and top of the list for discussion would be the recommendation made by some topflight clubs to introduce a simple points per game formula to work out league standings if at a point something happens to the league.

If this plan was to occur a team’s point would be divided by the number of games they have played and club placement in the table would be based on the the average number points of a team earned per game.

These options are being considered in case of a possible call off of the season if there was to be a second outbreak of the coronavirus or a fresh lockdown action by the government even after the restart by the 17th.

The recommendation needs the authorization of 14 topflight clubs to be approved and if this were to happen Liverpool would win the league and Bournemouth, Aston villa and Norwich would be relegated .

This report didn’t go down well with some bottom placed clubs. One who’s owner has promised to vote for no relegation if this were to happen and it is said that up to 10 Epl club are thinking the same.

Furthermore The EFL plans to resume the Championship by the weekend of June 20 and with the plans of the Epl to scrap relegation taking shape,EFL chairman Rick Parry has threatened Legal action against the Premier league if  is no relegation and promotion between the premier league and championship, claiming that it would be so unfair to do so.
