328 New COVID-19 Cases Confirmed in Nigeria

Nigeria has recorded 328 New cases of coronavirus, bringing the total number of cases to 11, 844, as announced by the NCDC on Friday.

According to the reports, Lagos recorded the highest number of cases of 121, 70 in the FCT, 25 in Bauchi, Rivers with 18, Oyo with 16, Kaduna with 15, Gombe with 14, Edo and Ogun with 13 each, Jigawa with 8, Enugu with 6, Kano with 5, and Osun and Ondo states recorded two each.

Although, there is a rising number in the infection cases, the NCDC noted that 3, 696 patients have been confirmed recovered and discharged, while a total of 333 persons have died.

With these recent figures, Nigeria is recorded as the third most affected African country with the COVID-19 disease, after South Africa and Egypt.

While essential workers and other workers at various levels have been allowed to resume work, due to the gradual easing of the lockdown, the government pleases that people that can stay at home should do so, in order to curb the spread of the virus.
