Manchester United — Stoke city match cancelled due to a covid-19 case confirmation in Stoke city’s camp.

The practice match earlier slated to hold between Man United and Stoke city at United’s Carrington training center yesterday was postponed due to the confirmation of Stoke city’s manager,Michael O’Neils’ for coronavirus.

United insisted that none of their players came in close contact with O’Neil further continuing training even after the match was called off,stepping up the pace for a return to action in the EPL against Tottenham next week Friday

O’Neil was showing no signs of the virus when he got news of his positive test. He has come out negative in previous five rounds of testing but will now follow relevant guidance and undergo a period of isolation in accordance with laid down rules.

Furthermore Assistant manager of Stoke City ,Billy McKinlay will now handle Stoke city’s training as they look to return to play against Reading on June 20.

The premier league tested 1,195 players and staff of clubs for Covid-19 on the 4th and 5th of June in which all came back negative. This is the sixth round of testing so far in the EPL and the second time there have been no confirmed case of the virus.

So far the EPL has tested over 6,274 people for the virus in which 13 came out being positive while 6,261 were negative.
