A lot has been achieved but many more are yet to be attained – Sen. Oseni to constituency as he mark 1yr in office

Dear Constituents,

I want to use this medium to extend my warm regards to you all and remind you that the mandate you generously gave me to represent you at the National Assembly as Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria has clocked twelve months.

For the past one year, I have been guided by a single agenda. This agenda serves as a guide and informed my legislative engagements both in and outside the Hallowed chamber of the Senate and oversight duties.
The all important single agenda is to ensure that whatever belongs to you gets to you intact!

While on the quest to fulfil my campaign promises within the available resources in the period under review, I did not lose sight of the fact that I am an ambassador of Kogi Central Senatorial District and that my conduct and utterances in the public should be guided with decency and decorum.

A lot has been achieved but many more are yet to be attained in my quest and plans for the betterment of our constituency and the people. We have been able to make strategic contributions to the eventual rural solar electrification project of Upake in Ajaokuta Local Government Area which is the ancestral home of Ebira nation. Improvement of teaching/learning was pivotal in our agenda and in this regard, we have distributed some learning materials like laptops, books, etc to some schools across the constituency.

Construction of roads, youths and women empowerment were also not neglected in this year of representation.

The aforementioned and many more projects were only at their respective first phases when the world was struck with the novel coronavirus pandemic. This has compelled us to suspend some of our activities even the free ICT/cyber security training across the country.

Again, I call on the youths, stakeholders and our respected traditional rulers to maintain calmness as we seek legal redress on the recently disputed Local Government Areas in the state especially Ajaokuta Local Government Area.
My colleagues at National Assembly and I have been working assiduously to ensure that the steel complex come to life once and for all for the benefits of Kogi indigenes and the country at large.

My desire was to organise a formal gathering where I will present my scorecards in the last one year but constrained by the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. It is on this note that I sincerely appreciate your patience and the cooperation you gave Kogi State government, the Nigeria Centre for Disease and Control (NCDC) and other Health Authorities in the fight against the scourge.

It is my fervent prayer that the world will overcome this in no distant time so we can optimally discharge our duties to the people unhindered.

May Allah bless us all.

Senator Yakubu Oseni
Kogi Central.
