Politics of Hatred in Egbura Community, From the Archive of Egbura2dWorld — By Shuaibu Ozuye

“I hate politics. It’s slimy. Any job where people pander for votes I don’t like. The country has gotten so partisan that if you’re not on my side, you’re the enemy.”
By Mark Cuban

Hate seems to be the new currency of politics as it is not only in demand in Egbura Communities but across Nigeria and the world at large.
“Hatred” is a unifying factor, and politicians are exploiting it as an instrument to materialize their dangerous political objectives throughout the world.
Hate politics enables politicians to get away with their failure in the actual job of public welfare and human development. They cunningly put all major issues on the back burner. This has become the shortest route for the maximum electoral votes.
This culture of hatred in politics throughout Nigeria and the whole world is leading towards a horrible quagmire.

Though it has become a winning formula for the politicians with stakes, yet it has widened the gulf among classes, societies, regions, religions, and countries.
This culture can radicalize peaceful societies and can have disastrous ramifications for future generations.

Egbura Community is a perfect example…
In Our Communities today, politics no longer play it’s original role.
Politics that is supposed to be one of the causes of Our development and progress as People, has becomes the cause of Our underdevelopment and backwardness.
Politics is supposed to unite us not disunite us.
When other ethnics group are advancing and developing through politic, we are disintegrating.

Our political Leaders has succeeded in manipulating our psyche and make us believed and practice Politics of Hatred.
Our Politicians now focus on disuniting us instead of presenting their manifestations.

And these attitude has prevented so many good people from participating in Politics. Consequentially, the bad politicians maintain the dominance.

We don’t need to fight each other because of differences in political affiliations.
We seriously don’t need to destroy each other’s property because we are not of the same party.
Neither do we have to deprived Our people of their right simple because they are Opposition.

It’s is worthy of note that, the only permanent thing in Politics is Interest.
We can be in different political parties and still pursue the same Interest.

Ladies and Gentlemen of Egbura Communities, I think it’s high time we redefine our interest as a community and work towards achieving it.
Let’s unite ourselves and elect Leaders that are worthy of the position and Capable of solving our problem as a people.
Let’s encourage the good people in our society to join Politics. Because, “If the Good people decides to fold their hands and allow the bad one take over the affair of a Nation, they will all suffer the consequences”. Unknown author.

I belong to the school of thought that believe that, all these Kidnapping, Banditry and other related criminal acts in our society is Politically motivated…
What else do you expect when amoral Politicians has taken over the affairs of Our Community and the Nation at large.
We know that amorality cannot be totally eradicated in Our politics. But, serious majors need to be put in place to control and reduced to to the nearest minimum… By having people of integrity participating in Politics in Egbura Community.

Let’s all take this message to our people, far and near.

Let oriented them to decease from Politics of hatred and embrace Politics of Progress.

As the good Ambassadors of Egbura Community that we are, I am urging us all to preach and act peace, tolerance and United while Politicking.
Let focus on things that unite us as a people and shun things that disunite us. Politics of hatred is evil and dangerous for the survival of our Community.
Thanks

Yours in Struggle
