Over 90,000 applicant jostle for 7,000 teachers recruitment in Oyo

In a bid to restrain the high rate of unemployment by Oyo State Government the Teaching Service Commission in Oyo State recorded over 90,000 applicants in the ongoing teaching recruitment.

Akin Alamu the Chairman of the  Commissio disclosed this in Ibadan yesterday during a private radio programme.

He said, those who applied would  soon be invited for a Computer Based Test in August.

He further explain that only 7,000 would be employed out of the 90,000 applicant for the Oyo teaching jobs while another 2,000 would be employed as non-teaching staff.

Though, he didn’t say non-indigenes would be shut out, he stressed that more preference would be given to indigenes of the state.

Some applicant reacted to the recruitment process that they are hoping for the best. The process is still transparent for now and hope it will not be hijacked by politicians at the employment stage.”

They also commended Governor Makinde for inducing such opportunity in order to curtail the high rate of unemployment in the state.
