Nigerian Army Dismissed A Female Solder For Getting Pregnant For A Suspected Bandit.

Since being attacked by alleged bandits while moving to Ogbomoso, Oyo State, the Nigerian Army has fired a soldier for being pregnant.

According to punch.ng, the survivor of the rape was charged with one count of ‘conduct prejudicial to service discipline,’ found guilty and discharged from the regiment.

However, when contacted on the phone on Wednesday, she declined to comment on her ordeal, saying,“I have not asked you you to publish anything ,but we are working on appeal”.

Mr Johnson Oyewole who is her laywer,said his clint’s was unlawfully dismissal and he also said that the dismissal will be overturned abd her clint will call back to server her fatherland. According to an appeal made by her lawyer to the Chief of Army Staff, Lt . Gen. Tukur Buratai, the victim enlisted as a part of 67 regular recruits in the Army in March 2012 and served with 56 Signal Command, Mile 2, Lagos, prior to the incident.

As reported by punch.ng,The Letter that give the challenge her dismissal stated ”It is manifest that the purported trial of our client was tainted with substantial irregularities; there is no offence under the law and no element of the offence of misconduct prejudicial to service discipline that talks of pregnancy while in service and warranted dismissal under section 103(1).

It was explained that, the soldier was allowed to traveled to Oyo state ,sometimes in October year 2014 when she vehicle she entered was attacked by bandicts along Odo-Oba road in Iwo and she was allegedly raped by five men and she was later admitted at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Ogbomosho,where she was treated for six days .

During the sexual attack, she received an excerpt from the police crime report, a sworn affidavit, as well as a medical report stating that she had suffered “laceration of the right ankle and bruises around the thigh area.”
