Solskjaer’s men see off LASK to ease into Europa League quarter-finals.

Manchester United Comfortably progress into the Quarter finals of the Europa League Competition coming from behind to defeat LASK in the second leg of the knockout stage, 2 goals to 1 at the Theatre of Dreams, Old Trafford.

After defeating LASK 5- goals to nil in the 1st leg at Austria, United’s last match before the Lockdown and subsequent closure of all sports activities due to the Coronavirus pandemic, United were all but through to the Quarter finals already and the fixture was more of a formality.

Jesse Lingard cancelled out an amazing LASK goal from Philipp Wiesinger almost immediately before Off the bench for Daniel James, Anthony Martial came on in the 84th minute and scored the winning goal 4min later.

LASK Last game in the Austrian league was almost a month ago compared to United in the Premier league that just ended not too long ago, so United could have been more match prepared than LASK and also more play competitive.

United made nine changes to the side that ended the Premier league season with a 2-0 win at Leicester City. Such changes affected team play and United could not bring ball to proper play in the first half and could only get two shots at goal but none of those ball was ever close to cause problems.

But United Improved in the Second half after Lingard’s equaliser and further got the winning goal from Anthony Martial two minutes from time with Juan Mata providing the assist on both occasions.

Manchester Untited are now through to the Quarter Finals of the competition were they will now face Copenhagen who were 3-1 aggregate winners over Turkish Champions Instanbul Basaksehir next Monday.
