Buratai says Boko Haram is almost extinct in the North-east
Tukur Buratai, the Chief of Army Staff has said that apart from Borno State, they have successfully pushed Boko Haram out of the North-eastern parts of Nigeria.
He disclosed this at a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday.
He added that the troops are sharing intelligence to rout the insurgents out of Borno. He said,
“There are no Boko Haram terrorists in neighbouring states. They have been pushed out, and now cornered in Borno State.
We are coordinating with civil and traditional authorities, mobilising and reinforcing and all we need is patience. We will not relent.”
