          Shakhtar Donetsk 4-1 Basel.

R Van Wolfswinkel’s 90+2 goal for Basel was just a mere consolation as the encounter ended way before that time.

Shakhtar Donetsk who last won this competition in 2009, ran riot all over Basel in Germany on Tuesday night with their Brazilian quartet leading the way.

Shakhtar got in lead when Junior Moraes headed home Marlos’ corner in the 2nd minute and Taison doubled their advantage in the 22nd minute when his shot was deflected by Fabian Frei.

Alan Patrick increased the lead to three in the 75th minute from a well converted penalty kick. As if that wasn’t enough Dodo added a fourth for Shakhtar with two Minutes remaining on the clock.

Basel were second best throughout and could only grab a consolation when Ricky Van Wolfswinkel got a goal in the 90+2 minute.
