Gov Fintiri flags off 3.8km Jada township roads

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has flagged off work on 3.8km Jada township roads and rehabilitation of 0.4km washout section along Jada-Mbulo road which cost government over ₦1.4b.

The roads include Palace road: 650m, Cattle market road: 1.50km, Prayer ground: 1.32km and Duha Era road: 800m.

In his address at the ceremony in Jada on Thursday, Governor Umaru Fintiri explained that local government areas have been neglected for over the years as a result of diversion of their resources by successive administrations.

The Governor called on executive chairmen of local government councils to take advantage of financial autonomy granted to the local councils by providing the people dividends of democracy to reduce overdependence on state and federal governments.

He revealed that government is monitoring the activities of local government chairmen to ensure that they didn’t deviate from the objectives of the present administration which aimed at providing purposeful leadership to the people.

In his remark, the Commissioner of Works and Energy Development, Alhaji Adamu Atiku Abubakar said the projects were awarded to Messrs Triacta Nigeria Limited and ATB Barack Services Nigeria limited and will be completed in eight and five months respectively.

In their separate remarks, the representative of the two contracting firms handling the projects, pledged to ensure that they deliver a qualitative work within timeframe while calling on people to give them support and cooperation for the success of the work.

In his vote of thanks on behalf of Jada community Doctor Mahmud Yahaya Jada thanked Governor Umaru Fintiri for providing the people of the various projects and assured him total support and loyalty of the people.
