Seyi Makinde orders re-arrest of serial killer
Seyi Makinde, the governor of Oyo State has asked the police to re-arrest Sunday Shodipe.
The suspect is alleged to be involved in the series of murders in the Akinyele Local Government Area. He escaped from police custody in Ibadan on Saturday.
Ably represented by the Special Adviser on Security, CP Fatai Owoseni (retd.), at a town hall meeting in the Akinyele LGA, Mr Makinde said that the re-arrest of the alleged mastermind of at least six ritual killings in Ibadan must be made a top priority of security operatives.
A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr Taiwo Adisa, quoted Owoseni as saying,
“So, Governor Seyi Makinde has ensured that this gets to the hearing of the top echelon of the police, that is the Inspector General of Police.
The governor and IGP have given the marching order to the Commissioner of Police and all his officers in Oyo State to work with the people in the community, so as to ensure that the suspect is rearrested; and ensure that all those cases are investigated to a logical conclusion.”
