The great Sahābiyah ( a female companions of the Prophet), Umm Sulym, the wife of Abu Talhah, set a great example of patient of losing a child, and Allah, the Almighty All-Merciful, compensated her greatly.
A as (May Allah be please with him) said: A son of Abu went out, and the boy passed away. When Abu Talhah come back, he said “how is my son?” Umm Sulaym, the mother of the boy, said: he is better than he was.” Then she brought him his dinner and he ate, then he was intimate with her.
When that was over, she said” Bury the boy.” The following morning Abu Talhah come to the messenger of Allah ( Blessing and peace be upon him) and told him what happened. He (the prophet asked: were you intimate last night? ” He said ” Yes.” The prophet said: “O” Allah, Bless the! Them. She give birth to a boy, and Abu Talhah said to me (Anas): ” Take him to the Prophet,” and he send some dates with him. The Prophet said: ” Have you brought something with him?” I said: ” Yes, dates.” The Prophet took some and chewed them, then he took some from his mouth and placed it in the infant’s mouth, then he named him ‘Abdullāh.
