A Kogi born renown philanthropist and son of former Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Shuaibu Abubakar Audu today joined his Non Governmental Organization and good people of Ogbonicha in Ofu LGA of the State to preside over the commissioning of a borehole situated in the community.
The village head, Orego Attah Igala, HRH. Alhaji Tijanni Audu and prominent Ogbonicha community leaders, all participated in the ceremony where they hailed the Magnanimous efforts of the Shuaibu Abubakar Audu Foundation for giving the village life once again.
The people of Ogbonicha now have clean water which will increased their health awareness and links to care and treatment.
On his part, Alhaji Shuaibu Abubakar Audu who is the Grand Patron of the foundation said his NGO will continue to work with the communities across the State to identify other needs and undertake appropriate interventions.
While mammoth crowds, Alhaji Shuaibu Abubakar Audu, opined that developmental strides embark by his NGO across Kogi communities is vital to building a bridge between his organization and communities towards impacting the rulers dwellers.
“The boreholes was initiated by my foundation to address the need of the Kogi communities for potable drinking water and to also guarantee sound health”.
Alhaji Shuaibu Abubakar Audu is the son of former Kogi State Governor, Prince Abubakar Audu of the blessed memory, Executive Director of Bank IBTC in Lagos and his activities have since become a model in Kogi and Nigeria where he showcases how the people can work together toward a common good even without holding any position in government. It also demonstrates how the Kogi leaders can engage with communities to improve their wellbeing.
The community while showing their open appreciation and love to the son of former Kogi State political leader, the community’s dance groups sang and praised the son of former Governor and his late father for bringing developments across the State and particularly boreholes he provide through his Non Governmental Organization.
The paramount ruler also presented gifts of Kolanuts to their Son and the borehole in Ogbonicha formally commissioned amidst Jubilations from the people of the area.
It would be recalled, the Alhaji Shuaibu Abubakar Audu Foundation (ASAAF) has sunks motorized boreholes across the three (3) Senatorial districts of the State and those of west and central have been commissioned while that of the east is ongoing.
