UEFA Champions League Match report: Lyon 0-3 Bayern München- Serge Gnabry’s double sinks Lyon, Sets up UCL Final showdown with PSG.

Bayern Munich won their 10th consecutive UCL match this season against Lyon, a victory good enough to set up a UCL final showdown with PSG of France on Sunday, August 23rd in Lisbon.

Serge Gnabry sprinkled his magic all over the game as he’s brace helps Inspire Bayern to walk over Lyon on Wednesday night.

Lyon went into the game as overwhelming underdogs, but they showed no signs of that in the early stages as they sought to mount an upset at the Estadio Jose Alvalade as they did against Manchester City. But playing against a side who Defeated Barcelona by 8 goals to 2 five days ago, all hopes for a victory were looking bleak.

Lyon had thier moments though, pulling in a good performance,taking advantage of Bayern’s high defensive line when the score line was still at par.

Most notable of such was captain Memphis Depay and striker Karl Toko Ekambi who had my some gilt-edged chances early on but both spewed their chances when the game was still 0-0.

Depay was played through on goal, but goalkeeper Manuel Neuer somehow managed to make himself big enough to put off the Dutch forward.

Moments later, Lyon thought they’ve gotten the goal they needed when Ekambi was played through on his own. He did some good work with the ball setting himself up for a scoring chance only to see him rattle the Upright of the goal.

At this point Bayern Munich were now fully into the game and they’ll soon to make Lyon pay for all their missed chances earlier on courtesy of Arsenal reject Serge Gnabry.

Gnabry fired Bayern into the lead with a superb shot from outside the area. The youngster scored a screamer in the 18th minute after dribbling past a couple of players before rifling in a powerful shot past keeper Anthony Lopez. The Germans were 2-0 up 13 minutes later after Gnabry pounced on a missed chance from Lewandowski in the box.

Bayern were in total control of the game at this point and Lyon who did well for themselves, knocking out Juventus and Manchester City out of the competition could only have their lack of Clinical finishing upfront to blame.

The game was moving towards a typical victory for Bayern, whose result was confirmed in the 88th minute courtesy of Lewandowski, who nodded an impressive 55th goal of the season.
Bayern Munich will now face Paris- Saint Germain in the UCL Finals on Sundah in Lisbon.

Recall that Omokoshaban earlier reported that French giants Paris Saint-Germain have qualified for their first-ever Champions League following their 3-0 win over RB Leipzig.
