Mali: Civil and Military personnel in custody will not be released until the security situation is assured — junta

The press briefing by the @CnspMali junta spokesman – on the tête à tête meeting with ECOWAS reps : key points : ECOWAS requested to see Président IB Keita to acknowledge his health and well-being. The Junta granted an audience led by GL Jonathan.

According to col Ismael Wague ECOWAS reps had a 1 on 1 meeting with ousted President Keita – IBK acknowledged he is treated. He thanked the Military for looking after him & for protecting him from an agitated Malian population according to the Junta spokesman.

The spokesman said IBK told ECOWAS that he was about to resign before he was removed from power but that he has no wish to return to power.
Point 2 – Keita is free to seek medical treatment in and out of Mali 🇲🇱. ECOWAS has guaranteed his return if required. Point 3:

Point 3: The PM, other civil and military personnel in custody will not be released until the security situation is assured according to the junta.
Point 4: ECOWAS has its own version of transition-the junta has its own version of transition- this point has not been agreed upon.
