Ibadan fast train service is set to begin operations in mid September

The Lagos – Ibadan fast train service is set to begin operations in mid September. There will be 16 trips daily between Ebute-Metta and Ibadan.

The 10 stations along the corridor are; Apapa, EBJ, Agege, Agbado, Kajola, Papalanto, Abeokuta, Olodo, Omi-Adio and Ibadan.

The operators had run a modified free service for a few months to test the system and iron out any kinks. While the pandemic stalled the project for a bit, things are now back on track.

The service currently has 24 coaches, and a set of DMUs (Diesel Multiple Units) made of eight coaches.

This is fantastic for people living across this rail corridor. It means one can live in some parts of Ogun State and Oyo State that are close enough to the stations, and commute into Lagos for work daily.

It will also make interstate travel, faster, safer and less stressful. ~ Bucky 2020
