Breaking: Former senator Hamisu Musa dies at 89

A former minister of postal service, Hamisu Musa, has been reported dead.


Musa died at the age of 89 in the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital.

The late northerner was also a senator on the platform of the defunct Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) in 1979

Senator Hamisu Musa, a former minister of postal service, was on Thursday, September 3, reported dead.

According to the deceased’s son, Ibrahim Musa, the former minister died on Thursday at Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital after a long illness, Daily Nigerian reports.

Late Musa was educated at New York Institute of Management and became a senator on the platform of the defunct Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) in 1979 and represented Kano Southwest senatorial district in that capacity.

Apart from chairing Senate committee on social development in the then National Assembly, the late prominent northerner was a recipient of the national honour of the Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON).
