Protests in New York after Police suffocated Daniel Prude

Daniel Prude, a black man has died of suffocation after being restrained by the Police.

This has sparked protests in the city of New York.

Prude, who had mental health issues, died after being put in a “spit hood”, which is meant to protect officers from detainees’ saliva.

Seven officers have now been suspended over the death in March.

According to city officials, contract rules mean that the officers will still be paid while on leave.
