Taraba state Basic and secondary education reopens schools 21st September 2020 ~By : Nelson C. Len

The Taraba state Basic and secondary education today announced it reopening of schools by the Hon Commissioner Basic and secondary education Hon Johannes Jigem. The commissioner made this known to news men today his office after intense meeting/consultation with principals, parents and boards.

The commissioner said the schools are to reopen on the 21st of September 2020 as ordered by His Excellency Governor Darius Dickson ishaku. The commissioner said directives have been send to school principals, headmasters and proprietors on the strick adherence to the covid 19 lay down rules . He said government will work on providing materials for safety keep in all secondary and primary schools.

Hon. Jigem however notify that the ministry has directed all schools to wave the third term which was thwarted by the effect of the pandemic. He said schools are to resume on the bases of first term and fees to be collected should only be for the first term.

He however said NABTEC will soon be on after which NECO will come up immediately and went ahead to emphasize on parents to encourage their children to resume schools immediately. He again reteriate that the reopening was basically for secondary and primary schools in the state alone. This is coming six (6) months after the closure of schools due to the Covid 19.
