Another tanker loaded with petrol had an accident at Felele on the Okene-Lokoja-Abuja road.

The accident allegedly happen this afternoon 7th of Oct 2020.

Kingsley Fanwo, Kogi State Commissioner for Information and Communications, in statement didn’t reveal if the tanker gut into flames.

Fanwo warn people that are scooping fuel from the tanker to desist from it.

Fano said “The Kogi State Government wishes to inform members of the public of
another tanker accident at Felele on the Okene-Lokoja-Abuja road.

The tanker which was fully loaded with Premium Motor Spirit, PMS (Petrol) was involved in an accident this afternoon.

The State Government has put on place, all necessary safety measures and has since deployed men of the Fire Service and other security personnel to the scene of the
accident to avert human casualties.

Government is therefore, by way of this announcement, strongly advise members of
the public who are scooping the PMS from the fallen tanker to desist from such dangerous act immediately to avoid plunging the state into
another tragedy.

Anyone found to be engaging in activities capable of endangering the lives of the people around the accident scene will be made to face the full wrath of the law.

Residents of the area should go about their normal businesses with caution as Government is in full charge of the situation.”

This accident is coming few weeks after tanker explosion killed 23 people at the place in Lokoja, Kogi State capital.
