#Endsars protests and the distance omoyele sowore should take

by ayelabowo oluwaseun

Firstly I will like to state that I am an admirer of omoyele sowore due to his superb courage and high dedication to issues pertaining to our dear country, his firm believe in the possibilities of a new Nigeria to be ushered in by the youths can’t be denied, especially during his “take it back” campaigns where he travelled world wide to wake awareness in the minds of Nigerians especially the teeming young population,I was one of those at muritala Muhammed airport who welcomed him into the country 2years ago when he kicked start the nationwide own, from the airport we moved to ganiu fawehinmi park ojota where addressed the crowd right under a mid rainfall.

With the above assertion and pictorial evidence which I and some of my colleagues took then I hope no one will claim this was written due to hatred or disregard/discredit of omoyele sowore numerous great works.

2days ago some #endsars protesters in abuja released a video in which they shield out sowore from joining them in the protest, some find their act disrespectful while some of us felt it was the best thing to do as the government is trying hard to link the protest to politics or violence,as they have failed to pinpoint anyone as leader(s) that could have been bribe, cajole or arrest inorder to end the protests.

Omoyele presence at protests ground could be use to rubbish the protests as being politically motivated due to the political aspiration of sowore in the last presidential election,or let imagine sowore to have been among the protesters attacked at berger bridge abuja,or among those attacked at alausa-ikeja Lagos or he was right in the crowd when some hoodlums attacked the convoy of governor oyetola yesterday in Oshogbo.

See also  Nothing that is happening today that I did not say would happen if Buhari "won" the election in 2015 and 2019

For the benefit of all omoyele inclusive,he should leave the idea of being physically presents at #endsars protest and finally on a personal note I pray the Nigeria of our collective dreams comes into reality while we are still alive,as this protest somehow rekindle it possibilities in the minds of many real patriots of our dear nation
