There is nothing that is happening today that I did not say would happen if Buhari “won” the election in 2015 and 2019. Since then Reno Omokri and I have spoken out against him every single day for the last 5 years more than anyone else in this country and Nnamdi Kanu and leaders of all the other self-determination groups have been vindicated.

Buhari has destroyed the whole concept of Nigerian unity and he has dashed the hopes of millions for a peaceful, united country.

Against our counsel the South West gave him 51% of their votes in 2015 and 52% in 2019. That is how he won the presidential election: with South Western votes. Yet what did he do in return? He got his soldiers to slaughter the children of the South West in cold blood on the streets of Lagos.

This should come as no surprise to anyone because through his army, his security agencies, his secret love for the Salafist terror groups like Boko Haram and ISWAP and his support for state sponsored and state protected ethnic militias like the Fulani herdsmen he has slaughtered hundreds of thousands of Igbo and IPOB youths, Shia Muslims, northern Christian, Northern Muslims, Middle Belters, Mid-Westeners, Niger-Deltans and virtually everyone else.

Innocent blood has flowed and been spilt in virtually every nook and cranny of our country over the last five years in a greater proportion than at ANY other time in our history except during the civil war. But for the South West this was a first.

I always knew he was a callous, evil and bloodthirsty man but I never knew he could kill harmless children who posed no threat to him or anyone else and who were simply sitting on the floor and singing our national anthem.

They, perhaps rather naively, believed in the peace and unity of this country but Buhari’s soldiers shattered that dream and illusion by slaughtering them in cold blood with a shower of live bullets. Instead of giving them them peace and unity he washed the streets of Lekki with their blood. Yet one thing is clear: Buhari will pay a heavy price for what he has done and so will Bola Tinubu his principal collaborator in the South West.

We will never forget that they killed our children in the streets of Lekki and that they slaughtered and butchered hundreds of thousands of others all over the country over the last 5 years.

We are patient but we have long memories: when the time comes justice will be served. It is a debt that will be paid in full and those that were cut short and whose lives were so cruelly snuffed out for no just cause will be avenged. God wills it and so it shall be.
