Anti-France Protest Hits Abuja As Shiites Burn Country’s Flag

Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) on Tuesday stage a protest in the nation capital, Abuja’s against French President, Emmanuel Macron, over a publication term offensive on Prophet Muhammad by a citizen of the European country.

The Islamic member which were earlier prohibited from protesting in Abuja’s over the continued detention of their leader, El-Zazzaky, marched in a large numbers from Nitel Junction to Wuse Market.

While on the move, some of the protester set French flag ablaze, that cause to confusion in the city.

Secretary of the Academic Forum of the movement, Abdullahi Musa, said the rally was aimed at condemning the action of French President over the derogatory publication.

He said, “We set the French flag on fire in reaction to the attack on Islam and Muslims by the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, since the heinous crime of publishing cartoons of the Prophet by the magazine Charlie Hebdo.”

The protest ended at Wuse Market and forced vehicle owners to use alternative routes.
