Vaccine alone won’t put an end to corona virus pandemic-WHO

The Director general of world health organisation WHO Tedros Adhanon Ghebreyesus sais yesterday that a vaccine would not by itself stop corona virus pandemic.

Ghebreyesus stated this on a day US biotect firm,moderna,announced that its experimental vaccine against covid- 19 was 95.4 percent effective.

He said that the vaccine will compliment the other tools available not replace them,as a vacation on its own will not end the pandemic.

The WHO boss said supplies of the vaccine would initially be restricted with health workers ,older people and other at risk population to be prioritized .

He however,warned that people will still need to be tested ,isolated and cared for.
