#ENDSARS: As Govt, We will Continued to Devise Ways to Cater for Young People – Gov Adegboyega

Governor Adegboyega of Osun State has said that his government will continued to devise means of taken care of the young people.

The governor say this yesterday in stakeholders meeting to discus way forward after the #ENDSARS protest.

In post made available on his Facebook page, the Governor said:

“Today, we convoked a Stakeholders meeting to brainstorm on the aftermath of the #EndSARS protest in Osun, which was unfortunately hijacked by hoodlums and suspected political thugs, and consequently snowballed into a theatre of looting, arson and other mindless criminal activities.

The meeting which was attended by all relevant stakeholders in the Osun Project was aimed at fashioning out ways to avert recurrence of these ugly incidents that tend to debase our shared values, and how to sustain our Omoluabi ethos and move Osun forward, with active involvement of our youth.

As a Government, we’ll continue to devise ways to cater for the interest of our young people in governance and also ensure their active inclusion in the devt. process. We’ve set aside about N1.5 billion of the 2021 Budget for the engagement of our youths in Agric., Mining, ICT, Culture/Tourism and Commerce, among others.

We recognise the role of our co-stakeholders – our traditional rulers, religious and opinion leaders, parents and teachers in the peaceful standing of Osun, and the moulding of our youths. We therefore urge you all to use your good offices and positions to educate the youth and rein them in, in our collective interest.”
