Wike enforces 24-hours curfew on Rivers LG over cult killings

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has imposed a 24-hour curfew on the Okoro-Nu-Odu flyover area in Rumuokoro, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, due to the increase in culture activities and related violence.

The Governor also warned that government will deal appropriately with anyone who decides to disturb the peace and security of the state with cult activities and other violence.

The curfew which is to have effect from monday 23rd November 2020 will have all forms of trading and vehicle movement closed within the a for mentioned area.

Only staff and vehicles belonging to Julius Berger Nigeria Limited are exempted from the curfew because of the ongoing construction work in the area.

The Governor gave directions to security agencies to arrest anyone who tries to violate the curfew.
