His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed Kauran Bauchi today commissioned the distribution of COVID-19 palliative materials to Bauchi Local Government Area of the state.
During the ceremony held at Multipurpose Indoor Sports Hall Bauchi, Governor Bala said the final distribution to beneficiaries in Bauchi Local is to curb the hardship being experienced in the state.
He said a household is entitled to one food basket which contains 10kg of Rice, 10k of Corn/Maize flour, 5kg of Millet, 5k of Beans, 2kg of Sugar, 3 pieces of spaghetti, 100 cubes of Maggi, 1kg of salt and 2 litres of vegetable/palm oil.
Governor Bala said the COVID-19 Palliative Committee has so far distributed a total of 110, 000 food basket to the twenty Local Government Areas of the state.
He said Bauchi State Government got tremendous donations from well meaning members of the public, corporate organisations, Government Agencies, Local and International donors.
Governor Bala commended the distribution committee for a job weldone, saying that adding that he is satisfied with the efforts of the committee in the discharge of its assigned duties.
Governor Bala said his administration has taken steps to ensure that the virus is totally eradicated in the state.
Others who delivered speeches are, His Excellency, the Deputy Governor and Chairman Commitee for the fight against Covid -19 Senator Baba Tela, Emir of Bauchi, who is the Emir of COVID-19 Palliative Distribution Committee, Alhaji Rilwanu Suleimanu Adamu, Senator Adamu Gumba and Chairman of Bauchi Local Government, Mahmood Babamaji.
