Suspected Killers Of Benue Varsity Professor Arrested

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command said it has arrested one Jeremiah Nnamdi, suspected to have gruesomely murdered one Professor Kwaghger of the Federal University of Agriculture, Benue State on 28th November, 2020.

Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mariam Yusuf, in a statement on Monday, said Nnamdi was arrested around CBN Junction, along Karu axis, in Abuja.

Yusuf said the police acted on credible intelligence to effect the arrest.

She said the suspect confessed to the crime.

“The suspect confessed that he and one Martins ‘m’ who is currently at large, robbed and killed the Professor, disposed of the corpse before taking possession of his vehicle.

“However, the suspect met his waterloo while attempting to sell the stolen vehicle. Exhibit recovered from the suspect: one (1) Toyota Venza with reg no. RSH 746 NY. Concerted effort is in place to arrest the fleeing suspect.

“While urging FCT residents to continually provide prompt information, the Commissioner of Police CP. Bala Ciroma reiterates the Command’s commitment to the protection of lives and property in the Federal Capital Territory. The suspect will be arraigned in court upon the conclusion of the investigation,” Yusuf said.
