Two suspected ritualist have been arrested by the Gwada Division Police in procession of a human eye in Daza village in Munya LGA.
One of the suspect Buhari Ibrahim 35, a herbalist was arrested on Monday, November 30 while other suspect, Bitrus Imoh 29 was arrested on Monday, 7 December.
According to Ibrahim, he claimed that Bitrus gave him the eye to perform a charm for him. Bitrus claimed he removed the eye from the corpse of his late brother who early this year.
The Police Public Relation Officer, ASP Wasiu A. Abiodun who confirmed the report.
“30/11/2020 at about 1800hrs, based on credible information received, Police Operatives attached to Gwada Division arrested one Buhari Ibrahim 35yrs ‘m’ of Daza village, Munya LGA in possession of a human eye.
“During interrogation, the suspect claimed to be a herbalist and that one Bitrus Imoh 29yrs ‘m’ of Geneko village Kotonkarfe LGA Kogi State, gave him the human eye in order to prepare a charm for him. The said Bitrus was later arrested on 07/12/2020 and claimed to have removed the human eye from the corpse of his late brother who died early this year from same village. Suspects will soon be arraigned in court for prosecution.”
