Kogi Poly Reactor Assures of Timely Completion of Hostels Renovation Projects

The Acting Rector, Kogi State Polytechnic, Dr Salisu Ogbo Usman, has assured of prompt completion of the ongoing renovation and reconstruction of the moribund students hostels.

The Acting Rector gave the assurance when he paid an unscheduled visit to the renovation sites on Wednesday.

He commended the contractors handling the projects for their professional ingenuity in the purchase and application of quality materials for the renovation works.

He noted that when completed the hostels will resolve the accommodation shortfall that has affected the smooth stay of majority of students while pursuing their academic programmes in the polytechnic.

He added that his experiment of using in-house professionals to execute the projects has paid off with the passion and commitment of workforce that has ensured timely delivery of the work.

He promised to sustain his open door policy in which every stakeholder has a role to play in the delivery of the mandate of Governor Yahaya Bello to reposition the school.

“I am pleased with the quality of materials and work going on in the sites. These massive projects being
executed at our time will become a landmark in the school.

We have set out to make a difference in ameliorating the sufferings of our students. We put our minds to work, sourced the funds and we challenged ourselves that as trainers of manpower for the construction industry we can do it by ourselves to save cost. And with what I am seeing, that decision to use in house professionals will be a reference point to other institutions,” he said.
