Some yet to identify gunmen has killed an officer of Nigerian police officer and a soldier in the Oton area of Sapele in Delta state and carted away their guns. Confirming the incident to newsmen, the spokesperson of the state police command, DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, said it was a surprise attack as the gunmen came to the military post through the community river using a speed boat, killing the officer. She said no arrests have been made but that investigation into the incident is ongoing. Security agents have been drafted to the area to beef up security and ease tension.
