Kwara Gov Commission Nigeria Sugar Institute

Governor Abdullazaq Abdullraham of Kwara State commission Nigeria Sugar Institute in the State.

The Sugar Institute was commissioned today 28th of January 2021 at Jimba Oja Ifelodun Local Government area of Kwara State.

The governor also commend President Muhammad Buhari for the good gesture.

The governor on his official social media handle said “Today, I attended the commissioning of the Nigeria Sugar Institute at Jimba Oja in Ifelodun local government area. My brother, Hon. Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment Otunba Adeniyi Adebayo, led other government functionaries to the event. I emphasised the need to urgently resolve the issues surrounding the Bacita sugar company. We have already met with AMCON and we are aware they are trying to unbundle it. Hopefully, our Bacita Sugar company will be back by the last quarter of 2023. Once that is done, with Bacita and BUA refineries, Kwara would be the leading producer of sugar in the whole of West Africa.

Similarly, I commend President Muhammadu Buhari for siting one of the six special economic zones in Lasoju Otte in Asa LGA, Kwara state. The project will involve massive infrastructural development and job opportunities. When completed, it will change the economic fortune of the state.”
